<p>YUM, pralines!!! I like the sugary ones that kind of fall apart, not the gooey, stretchy ones. I miss those! </p>

<p>Agree on pralines. When D1 went to France, someone on CC advised maple syrup or candies- which turned out to be a hit. If anyone is concerned about making spicy foods for Germans, maybe think about taking tortillas and making mild tacos or fajitas. Our German exchange student loved cornbread, D could take a package or two.</p>
<p>I didn’t have much issue translating coking amounts to/from metric, but it takes some getting used to. But nowadays, so many online recipes will convert to metric for you, or the reverse. </p>
