Hey guys!!

This is my current list!
I need ~1-2 more schools. Thanks guys.

Columbia – Early Decision

UPenn

Cornell

Carnegie Mellon

NYU Polytech*

University of Rochester

University of Binghamton

RPI*

Fordham*

Drexel*

CUNY City College

St. John’s*

Boston University

denotes free application, so I wouldn’t be applying to these schools if there was an application fee (besides Drexel and Fordham )

I want to stay in the Northeast.
Engineering Schools.

this list looks fantastic. I think NYU-Poly is an awesome backup school/any type of school. If THOSE types of schools are on your list, you’ll probably get a VERY nice scholarship offer from Poly, and a beautiful acceptance, so it’s one fantastic fall-back…if that’s what you need it to be. lol oh yeah, don’t count out your safety schools. I was just like you and only applied to some schools, like Poly, because of the free application. And I got in, and I loved it infinitely more than Carnegie Mellon or Northwestern, much to my dad’s surprise – and chagrin; he looks at the rankings way too much. if you visit, I think you’ll like the school and the atmosphere…seriously, check it out! it’s getting exponentially better ever since it became affiliated with NYU. :)

other amazing engineering colleges in the northeast? I’m thinking… but I think you’ve got them all. unless you want to add MIT/Olin/WPI - they’re in the Boston area. and they’re great engineering schools. and maybe Cooper Union, but it’s deathly intense lol.

I… would recommend a state school. e.g. NJIT if you’re from New Jersey. keep in mind that the less your college costs, the more you get to keep in your pocket :D

I am actually going to visit NYUPoly tomorrow. Tomorrows their open house.
Hopefully I will like it the same way you do.

MIT - Eh. Dont want to waste time on the application and get denied. Theres an amazing kid in my school whos applying. So I dont think Ill get accepted. lol
Olin - doesn’t have chem e i believe
WPI - Ill look into it.
NJIT - I hear its ridiculously dangerous
Cooper - I visited it and HATE it lol. Too nerdy :(

Thanks for your advice sir.
Ill look into WPI.

You should consider Bucknell or maybe Lehigh.

no. way. I’m working at the open house. lmao but I have to leave at 2, and I’m manning a desk in a building no one will visit, so odds are you shan’t see me.

yeah! that’s the main reason why I didn’t go to NJIT. I got an AMAZING scholarship…like, after paying for tuition and room/board, I still had money leftover. But I wasn’t keen about Newark. The facilities and opportunities there are supposed to be great though. Kids who go there for 1-2 years have transferred into MIT. Speaking of uber nerdy schools, yeah, that is definitely the Cooper Union way. My friend goes there and was bombarded with work from the start.

I hope you do like NYU-Poly! and that you show up early so you can find a parking space lol.

p.s. I’m actually a girl :o yeah I know, right? girl + engineering school… it just doesn’t compute haha.

Can you apply to more than one SUNY schools in your application form? If you can, you should apply to SUNY New Paltz. Binghamton becomes a reach for many in-state NY students. You should have a backup SUNY school.

I will look into Lehigh. I’ve heard good things about it.

Im going to the NYU Poly tour from 4 to 6 :frowning:

I may consider adding Buffalo, but doesn’t NEw Paltz have no engineering?

Let me know how the open house goes for you  Have a good time!

My nephew just graduated from Lehigh with an Engineering degree. I HIGHLY recommend the school.

[State University of New York at New Paltz: Electrical & Computer Engineering](SUNY New Paltz | Division of Engineering Programs)

I think you have a good, balanced list which is long enough! You don’t need any more schools haha but if you are adding, consider the applications they have (CA/nonCA)
