<p>I’m currently a junior, rather doing an alright job keeping with my classes. I’m taking the SAT in Jan 28, next week. I’m not really nervous, but I know this is important and I want to at least get an 1800 on it but preferably above 2000. However, problem is I never prep for SAT before and the only thing that is close to prepping for it is the PSAT. I did average on both PSATs (Soph - 1510 converted to SAT score. Junior - 1670 converted to SAT score). I’m hoping that my score will be from 1550 to 1790 for this upcoming test. This is really the first time I’m taking an SAT, and I think I’m going to do just average. But do you think I could do well without the prep courses for SAT?</p>
<p>And another thing. I registered for the SAT and it sends scores to 4 universities for free. I thought it was neat and I actually filled it out (colleges that I want to attend for quite a while). Is it too early to do this or do I just wait for the next SAT to use this free feature?</p>
<p>No i did princeton review and it was horrible. Get the blue book and start reading. But it all depends on the person. When i look back, SAT was just something i took 2 times and i would feel like it would have been a waste to spend sooo much money on prep courses.</p>
<p>I was too paranoid about my score to use the free option. I mean i had to wait for my scores, and be anxious about what those 4 schools thought of me if my scores were bad. Or maybe in the end i just wanted to send the ACT only. who knows. I kept my options open.</p>
<p>You could do well without a prep course, but only if you’re highly motivated and actually take the time to review on your own.</p>
<p>If you have not really studied for the SAT and you think you won’t do so good, why send them? You should definitely wait until you think you can have a more competitive score- unless, of course, the score you think you will get is within the average for the schools you want to send them to.</p>
