I could use your help when I visit Cornell with my parents.

aside from the very Big waterfall at Taugernock park (sp?)
could you please recommend a nice trail that I could walk with my parents and enjoy a nice waterfall experience. I know there are a lot of parks in the Ithaca area … but which walks did you really enjoy… and which trails gave you a very nice “waterfall experience”. we will not be swimming, just hiking.
thank you for sharing your thoughts :)

Buttermilk is the obvious one. You pull right up to the falls. Maybe that’s too obvious?? I guess you have to see if all the trails are open or not. Last time we were there some were closed.

Also, don’t miss the Cornell Ornithology Lab and surrounding Sapsucker woods. You can take a short hike or long. It’s lovely. You can also sit in the visitor center and just watch the birds.

Thank you very much. I didn’t know about the Cornell Ornithology Lab and the surrounding Sapsucker woods. That sounds really nice.

I know it may be convenient to just drive up to the falls …but driving right up to the falls may be a little too easy. I really enjoy a walk to get to a destination, following a trail and then being rewarded for making the journey.

I’ve heard so much about the beautiful area …so I would like to walk through it and experience it. the confusion is where to go for that walk!!
