Need some help finding schools (2.9 GPA)

I’m a rising senior and I have a 2.9 GPA with an upward trend
I live in Pennsylvania and go to a public school
1790 SAT (610CR 550M 630W)

The school must have an engineering department

I have some volunteering and work experience

I know I’m not going to have many options but there must be some schools out there that I can get into, right?

Can you give some info about what you can afford? You may not be up for much scholarship money, so it’s helpful to know if you would be best going the state school route or if your parents can pay full tuition at private schools (which would be about $40,000-$50,000 with room & board).

^^^

Good question!

How much will your parents pay each year for you to go to college? If you don’t know, ask them.

That will likely determine where you can apply.

I don’t know what area of the country you are considering, but in NY state look into Clarkson and Alfred.

Arizona State and the University of Arizona

Will you be retaking the SAT this fall? Could you take the ACT?

University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Don’t rule out a wild, wild west adventure…Here is a link to the U of Wyoming’ engineering website.

[UW CEAS Why UW](http://wwweng.uwyo.edu/info/WhyUW.html)

Purdue.

Going back to the first questions, what can you afford???

If you can afford an out of state public school, there would be a lot willing to take you such as University of Kansas, University of Arizona, University of Kentucky, University of Missouri, and University of Mississippi.

Another vote for Kansas and Arizona as 2 schools I am familiar with – excellent schools, and higher acceptance rate. I am not commenting on some of the other schools listed as I am less familiar, not that they are bad choices.
