Ok

If x=yz, 1/2y=w, and z=4w, then in terms of x, what does w equal?

On the coordinate plane, Line LM passes through the origin. If line LM is perpendicular to line RS and they intersect at (5,3), where does line RS cross the x-axis?

.5y=w so y=2w
x = yz
x = 2wz
w= x/(2z)

unless I made a mistake somewhere, that should explain the first problem

For the second, slope of a perpendicular line is the negative reciprocal of the original line.
You can plug a point (5,3) and slope into the formula y=mx +b to solve for b and then solve for y=0 to find where it crosses the x-axis.
