We need to replace our stainless steel kitchen sink and faucet. I sort of like this faucet from Costco but my husband thinks it would be hard to keep clean. https://www.costco.com/The-Foodie-Single-handle-Pull-down-Pre-rinse-Kitchen-Faucet%2c-Stainless-Steel-Finish%2c-by-Danze-Inc…product.100301823.html None of the reviews mention that problem. Whatever I get, I’d like it to be extra tall and like the pull out spritzer. I was thinking of buying through Costco mostly because of their return policy. My husband likes Lowes because he knows the store so well. Suggestions?
Make sure to measure the outside, underside, of the replacement sink if it is a drop-in or The top side interior if it is under mount. I bought 3 sinks that had to be returned due to a 1/4 inch or less than differential. Lowes and Costco are similar for returns.
Look into Moen faucets or Kohler faucets that have SS finish that does not get fingerprints and smudges… very easy to keep neat. That spring is going to be a PITA to clean… Is your sink a drop in or undermount? The latter can be a royal pain to replace.
Second the comment regarding replacing faucets for undermount sinks. We had to return many that did not have the lower length to accommodate the distance between the top of the counter and the fitting under the sink (even replacing the faucet with the exact same Kohler model, it wouldn’t screw on properly without having to take the sink out, lift a bit and etc).
The design truly is exquisite, but the potential additional time which might be necessary to keep those springs clean would steer me clear of such design.
If your countertop is granite or quartz, make sure the new faucet fits into the pre-drilled holes for the old faucet. We returned a Grohe faucet because it was a tad too big for the hole. It would have required widening the hole just a notch, and instead of buying the tools for that, we took the easy road - got another Moen
Our countertop is old school - vinyl? laminate? Nothing special but we’re not interested in replacing it now. My husband installed our last sink and will do this one as well. I think it’s a drop in. Good points about looking for fingerprints and smudge free. I really don’t like to clean. We may go down to Lowes to look and see what we like. The one I linked to from Costco is a faucet and sink combo.
I agree with your husband. The spring looks hard to clean. We have faucet and I’ve been very happy with it. https://www.vigoindustries.com/gramercy-pull-down-kitchen-faucet-vg02008-2258 It doesn’t actually have a spray, but when you pull out the hose it seems to increase the pressure. I don’t miss the spray.
I love my Silgranit sink and can’t imagine going back to anything else. Silgranit comes in a variety of colors and is quiet, doesn’t spot, and has a beautiful finish. I have the Blanco single sink in gray and it always look clean.
I too chose Silgranit in off-white greyish color as it was the next best thing after my all-time favorite seamless Corian sink. I love it! I don’t think silgranit sinks are offered in drop-in mount, but I could be wrong.
Here is the faucet we installed:

It is not smudge-proof, unfortunately, so I have to wipe it with a microfiber ss cleaning cloth. But it looks cool and modern and does not have crevasses where dirt accumulates.
The crossbar on that faucet means you would have to pull off the sprayer and move the crossbar out of the way to use it as a tall faucet. I just threw out our lousy, leaky Kohler and put one of the Hansgrohe faucets in our second sink, the one with the pulldown sprayer (https://www.costco.com/Hansgrohe-Talis-M-Pull-Down-Kitchen-Faucet-.product.100339741.html). So far, so good. It has the same functionality but with the lead weight on the water line under the sink.
We have (to be avoided) ceramic coated steel sinks, complete with scratches and stains. Kitchen changes for us are at least a few years of tuition payments away.
High-five, @Magnetron! We are faucet twins. The sprayer on that faucet rocks.
^^^We have a similar one. The spray is winning for me. A good compromise for OP.
What about a granite sink.?
I have not heard of purely granite sinks. Do you mean silgranit? Blanco makes amazing sinks. I just checked - I was completely wrong. Blanco sinks can be installed as a drop in option!
We’re at Lowes now and have found a FRANKE composite double bowl kitchen sink. Model # ELG62D91-LIN
Sounds like a good one!
In the cart. $200. Is the Costco one you are recommending chrome or brushed steel?
We got the steel to match the appliances, but if you like polished chrome, there is no reason not to get it. Same faucet, just different finish. Costco warehouses usually have it in stock so you might be able to bring one home today. Mr. B says install was a breeze compared with the Moen that required a special wrench and a Moen tool. And a trip to HD to get hoses! The Costco faucet comes with all parts needed for installation.
When I picked mine up at the Costco they only had the brushed finish, no bright chrome. Installation was easy-peasy, a couple of crescent wrenches and a couple of screwdrivers.
We got this Blanco silgranit composit sink, and it’s so much better than stainless. The low divide center allows for large pots/pans. The Metallic Gray color is like a darker stainless steel.
