<p>-Ran afterschool sports program for kids at local public school, created/founded by me, 6hr/month x 4 month</p>
<p>If you RAN the whole program, you’d have to spend MUCH more time then 6 hrs a month. I started up a girls basketball league in my area and I coach 2 of the teams. Even if I was ONLY a coach for ONE team, it would be about 6 hrs a week. There’s no way-it’s that simple. If you really can do that though please let me know how cause I desperatly need more time. It takes up at least 10 hrs of my week every week for about 4 months.</p>
<p>well setting the program up took a lot longer; but once it started, I just went to the gym 1x/wk for 1.5hrs to run the games/activities for the kids. it was at an elem school about 5min away from my hs, so I was there at 3.00 to 4.30</p>
<p>You’re very lucky then. I have to deal with the kids, the parents, and people who hate me because a 14 (at the time) year old did something 4 adults had failed at, starting a successful youth league in an innercity area.</p>

oh and i had to deal with the parents hating me because i was white. come on, what’s up with that? however, the kids having a place to go when their parents are out on drug binges or w/e and knowing they’re safe with me makes it all worth it =]].</p>
<p>Just do what you love to do, and don’t worry so much about Stanford. They know you’re people, and if they don’t take you, then I will be really surprised. Just be sure to show your passion via your essays! Those are the core of your app! I know they helped me a lot, along with my recs.</p>
<p>LOL but my main passion is not even that! It’s bb’ing/hydrogen! Gah I have so many things I love i don’t know which to represent in my essays Probably hydrogen, because that is the reason I need to be in stanford (California!!!)</p>
<p>I’m sure you’ll be able to fit everything within four essays, and even if you don’t, I’m sure you’ll be able to show Stanford what you love somehow. Oh, and love this board! It’s pretty awesome. And <em>really</em> helpful!</p>
<p>My main passion IS kids. I grew up in an innercity but I got lucky because I had parents who worked hard to get me out and by the time I was in high school I got into a good high school because we moved into the school district. I was lucky but I know too many kids who are smart but have no chance of getting out of there because their parents are too messed up. I just decided not to be one of those people who forgets where they come from, even though I’ve only been out of it for a few years.</p>
<p>i just read your original posts again, why does it matter if you studied or not. I hate when people say this is what I got but I didn’t study. If you feel you need to study, then study and then post your scores.</p>
<p>^ I just wrote that because I know if i study an increase should be possible…therefore for people not to say “omg your scores are too low to get in!!!”</p>
<p>-_- Oh well. Will retake in October. The breakdown was as follows:</p>
<p>CR - 700 (expected)
MA - 720 (sad, wanted higher)
W - 710 (although I got 77/80 MC…essay raped me; 7/12)</p>
<p>EDIT: I realized in my first post I mentioned my “future” award. I did get top 10 in the UofT bio competition (out of 6405 kids). Didn’t get anything for dupont. HOWEVER, I’ve recieved two separate community enhancement awards from two different cities and a youth recognition award. w00t! (those kicked ass. period)</p>
Probably hydrogen, because that is the reason I need to be in stanford (California!!!)</p>
