Need to get a 550 on US History

<p>Long story short, I have never taken US history and I need to get 550 on the SAT2 on it to be eligible for application into all UC campuses. I have only a little amount of knowledge on US history (it was covered to a small extent in my World History class). I want to limit myself to one or two books. What book(s) would that be, that if read to its entirety, would give me a good shot at a 550 on the SAT 2 US History test this November?</p>

<p>Keep in mind that I will be taking 2 other subject tests (M2 and CH) so that’s why I need more a review book than an actual textbook.</p>

<p>Use Larry Krieger’s book The Insider’s Guide to AP US History: The Essential Content. You can get it from Amazon. Skip the sections on how to write essays and DBQ’s which are not on the SAT ll.
Also get the Official SAT US and World History study guide book from Amazon or College Board as this will give you 2 released tests.</p>
