need to report UG scholarship $$ on FAFSA for GRAD school app?

Hi,
S is graduating this May from UG college and will be moving on to a PHD program in Sept. He received a full tuition scholarship during his UG years. For FAFSA graduate school application purposes, since he will be considered an independent student, does this past scholarship $$ need to be filled in on the FAFSA app?

Any part of his scholarships and grants that were taxable (in excess of tuition, fees and required books) and therefore reported on his tax returns would be included in his AGI. They would then also be reported in question 43d - this is so that the EFC formula can deduct the taxable scholarships from the AGI so that they do not affect his EFC.

If none of the scholarships were taxable income then they will not be reported anywhere on FAFSA.

If none of the scholarships were taxable income then they will not be reported anywhere on FAF

thank you! the scholarship was not in excess of tuition amount- they only off set the tuition.
