Need your ideas! Best Menu for teens to Prepare Together

I have no need to think too hard on things when I have all of you to help me out - thanks!

I am helping with a group of 8th graders this weekend and we want to prepare a meal (dinner) together as a bonding experience. There will be about 7-10 of us. Pizza is already on the weekend menu so that is out. We will have a kitchen.

Any fun, easy ideas?

Something that kids like, and can be separated by jobs easily, is tacos/Mexican. There’s lots of chopping and many hands can be used. Also, cornbread and rice dishes can be added.

Tacos with a lot of toppings? ? That way, everybody can design their own, you can please meat eaters and vegetarians alike.

Blueiguana, you are SO SMART.

I was going to suggest tacos with rice or something as well.

I think a baked potato bar with many toppings would be easy and fun. I
bet 8th graders would have fun making a dessert too.

It appears as though it’s a pretty popular idea. Group vote?

My kids still go for fun desserts like mud (pudding, crushed oreos, gummy worms), and DIY ice cream Sunday’s. We have a friend that makes fruit fondue that the kids all go gaga over but it’s a bit of work (white and milk chocolate, apples, bananas, strawberries, pound cake, and marshmallows! YUM!!).

How wonderful of you to host something like this! :)

Oh, I like the baked potato bar as well! Now I’m starving!!

If you go with Mexican, you can make Mexican chocolate pudding for dessert. That’s regular chocolate pudding with cinnamon.
