NEEDED: Feedback about Ivies, Top Schools, LACs. PROVIDED: Chance Backs.

<p>**Reposted. ** I’m a senior too, but I’ve learned a number of things from CC and people the past few years, so if you want, I’ll try to chance back. </p>

<p>Anyway, I know to take these with a grain of salt and that essays/recs/things out of my control also play a factor, but I was rejected from Stanford EA yesterday and would like to ask for your feedback for the RD round. </p>

<p>**Do I have a better chance at a few of these over others (due to STEM focus, etc)? What you think I should highlight more, what should I not, etc? Is it better to show one concentrated area of interest (science) or can I connect two (science and biz)? **Because I was rejected from Stanford, I’m just wondering if there’s anything I can improve on and whether my college list is balanced better.</p>

HYP, Dartmouth, Hopkins, Penn, UVA, Rice, Duke, Columbia, WashU, Amherst, Williams, Cornell, Northwestern, Brown</p>

  • SAT: 2360 (800R, 800W, 760M, 1st sitting)
  • ACT w/writing: 36 (1st sitting)
  • Subject Tests: Math II 800, Chemistry 790
  • GPA: 3.9/4.0 UW, 4.7/5.0 W
  • Rank: n/a
  • Courseload: Pretty challenging - most challenging minus maybe two classes. Nearly all IB, some AP, balanced between sciences/humanities, all As except in junior year (got a few Bs)
  • Others: IB Diploma Candidate.</p>

<p>Also wondering (though this is slightly off topic) - what are the science research opportunities like at LACs?</p>

<p>I’m actually very surprised you were rejected from Stanford, especially with your awards. I think you have excellent chances at all the schools on your list, and I would say that it’s better to connect your two interests (science and business) because it makes you a bit more unique and adds more depth to your application.</p>

<p>Don’t be freaked out that I call these all reach schools… They just are, for everyone. I’d feel like a liar if I called them “matches” for anyone… Though what I state below may make them seem to be matches for you, I can’t in good conscience call them matches, ahah.</p>

<p>I could see you:
-Getting into: UVA, Rice, Northwestern, Cornell, WUSTL, and Hopkins.<br>
-Maybe getting into: Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, Duke, and Williams.
-Most likely getting waitlisted at: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, and Amherst.</p>
