Negatives of WashU

I hear so many great things about WashU, but I would like to know what do you dislike about WashU?

Competitive sports at WashU aren’t very popular…it’s all D-III athletics, and not many of the teams get much student support.

Fundraising. Last year Upenn raised 394m, Cornell 380m, Columbia 350m, Uchicago 200m, Northwestern 160m and WashU 120m.

St. Louis, very dirty city and full of crime

Business school recruiting is not at the level of other top b schools.

I second the dislike about students being unenthusiastic about the sports. I’d have to disagree with the St. Louis comment by farbdogg71, as Washington University really isn’t in St. Louis (city). We’re technically in Clayton and University city, parts of St. Louis county, so the city part doesn’t reflect on campus.

My other complaint would be their lacking administration of their endowment investments - Though it did perform roughly in line with the market over the last year or two, its percentage returns were crushed by a lot of other endowments.
