Negotiations

I’ve heard of people igniting price wars between two schools (ie “school a is offering me 20k, can you guys beat that?”) so that they can get the best deal possible, but I was wondering if it would be at all effective for me to threaten to go to UCLA unless Berkeley guarantees my housing as a spring admit…?

Sorry, there’s no way that could possibly work.

Berkeley doesn’t negotiate. If you said that, they would say “fine” and terminate your admission.

This isn’t an asian supermarket (forgive my stereotyping). It wouldn’t work.

Berkeley wouldn’t do that for fall admits, much less spring admits (or transfers, or any other kind of student…)
