Hello everyone!
Tomorrow I am doing an in-site decision for a university…
I am really nervous due to the fact that I am just within the requirements for GPA…
The college requires at least a 2.0, and I have a 2.4…(On a 4.0 scale)
I recently retook the SAT w/ essay on Saturday, so I will only be able to hand in my most recent one…
(They require at least 1000, but I SCORED a 940 on the last one…)
Do you guys have any tips for succeeding in these types of interviews?
Thanks!
Spend some time reading through the website in advance so that you can tell the recruiter why it is that you want to attend this university, and so that you know what questions you want to ask the recruiter about that university. Bring copies of your transcript and your test scores. Be prepared to tell the recruiter what you did differently to prepare for your SAT retake, and why those actions make you believe you must have done better this time.
Dress neatly. Introduce yourself. Remember the recruiter’s name. Shake hands. Look the recruiter in the eye. In other words, all those polite behaviors your elders have been beating into you your whole life.
If the recruiter cannot give you an onsite decision because the more recent SAT score is needed, be prepared to ask politely how you can make certain that the recruiter does receive your scores in a timely fashion. For example, should you email or telephone that person as soon as the scores are available? When you do get your new scores, no matter how bad they are, follow up with the recruiter in the agreed fashion.
Whichever way the conversation goes, be sure to thank the recruiter for their time, and shake hands again on your way out of the interview.
Wishing you all the best!
