Can anyone out there supply some opinions on the question.
Does anyone think that a 4/380 ranked student will get into Princeton ED? The students ranked 1,2,3 all want to apply RD, but are now discovering that 4 has decided to try ED. 4 has good grades and scores, but is not that strong on ECs. 1,2,3 are now nervous that their chances may be diminished if he is selected. At most, 2 students may get offers - most likely only 1 (maybe) or 0 will get an offer. Is there any reason to be concerned if you are 1,2,3?

Well… there’s always Harvard…because not everyone can get into Princeton.

You have given us almost no basis for evaluation, but based on what you said, I don’t think 1, 2, and 3 have toooo much to worry about. If they are that nervous about not getting into Princeton, however, they should probably apply ED as well. Honestly, if 4 gets in early, 1, 2, and 3 could either get fewer offers, or seem better in contrast to 4 (if he is that much worse in comparison). Overall, I don’t think that 1, 2, or 3 should make any huge changes based on such an intangible suspicion.

4 should just worry about himself and not waste time on matters outside his control
