Nest thermostat and colored lights

I would have added my first experience with the Nest thermostat to former discussion, but that is closed.

Last weekend I visited my son in his new apartment. He has everything wired. He demonstrated how the Nest works. He also can change the color of the living room light with a voice command. He can play Debussy and change the volume, just by speaking. I guess this is what is meant by a “smart” house.

The Nest doesn’t control the lights or sound, it has to be connected to Google Home or Alexa to do that. We have the Nest but it’s not connected to a system that “listens” to everything being said in the house.
