Is there such a thing as a net price calculator for private schools? For those applying for financial aid - how do you know what to expect to pay? We are applying via A Better Chance for middle grades but want to know what we may expect to pay based on our income. If there are any resources you can provide that can let us know an estimate that would be great.
Some schools have a calculator. Look at the FA section of each school. Some also have tables with FA awards based on income. You can’t tell all the variables but it can give you a ballpark.
ABC is a great program - my (public) high school participated.
@MA2012 Thanks for the info. So far the three schools from ABC I like did not have this detail but placement may be at a different school.
You can fill out the SSS by NAIS financial aid form online. It’s not free you will have to,pay a fee. It will give you an “expected family contribution” amount.
@queenmother Thanks for the information. Can I do so now? Or is there a specific time that’s best.
I believe you can do it at any time. I am not sure though if you will have to select some schools to send it to before it gives you your results. You could pick some arbitrary school that you have no intentions of attending if you have to.
Choate has one on their site. It’ll give you a rough estimate, however it just depends on the school what the actual financial aid package would look like. https://www.choate.edu/admission/tuition-and-financial-aid
Thanks for the great info!
