Network Card Question...Please Help

Okay so I’m looking for a laptop for college. I think I’ve settled on the right one for me, a Toshiba Satellite L350.

However, I have a question for people who are most likely more knowledgeable about this than I am.

My college is requesting that my laptop have a 100mbps card or faster. The specs on the Satellite say that it has “10/100Mbps LAN”, but that’s about it. Does this mean that the laptop is fine or I need to look for another laptop?

Your computer is fine. 10/100mbps means it can work at 10 or 100mbps, thus meeting the 100mbps or faster requirement. Newer computers are coming out with 1000mbps capable cards. However, for most stuff, 100 mbps is fine. All home broadband internet connections are under 10mpbs.

That laptop is fine. It meets the standard. As does any laptop made within the past 6 years.

Both of you, thank you so much!
