Pitt is #6 nationally in 2015 of total NIH funds, $430mm, almost 1,000 projects. If you look in depts for research focus in labs - you will see there is a breadth and depth to the research going on. My jr has been involved in a mcgowen regenerative med research lab for 3 yrs focused on neuro imaging. Just poke around the various dept websites.
