<p>Were you ever contacted by your school and asked to submit a tax transcript? If not, that is the reason you received your aid. You may or may not be asked to do a direct IRS tax link or submit a tax transcript - it’s sort of a luck of the draw thing (although some schools do require it of all aid applicants). If you were asked for it & didn’t turn it in, it sounds like the aid office may have released your aid when they should not have done so.</p>
