New ACT score = improved chances?!

<p>You are definitely in range with your ACT score, GPA and ECs. However, tons of applicants with the similar profiles will be rejected. Do your best on essays, have some great safeties, and hope for the best.</p>

<p>What types of schools would make good safeties for me?</p>

<p>Have you looked into CMU, Georgia Tech, RPI, Northwestern, and, of course, your local U Mich? I’d give you a very good shot at each of these.</p>

<p>cesium: i LOVE all those schools (esp. Northwestern & Michigan). I’m actually a legacy at CMU too. BUT my GPA at schools that take into account freshman grades for GPA is…slightly slower. It’s a little above a 3.7. Do you still think I have a good chance at them?</p>
