New Amazing Race Season starts FRIDAY, September 26!!! Season Thread

Bumping up!
Funny- even though the show has moved to Friday night, we have been DVRing it - and watching Sunday night - old habits die hard!!!

Watching this show makes me realize how much I miss it when it’s not on!!!

Good episode again. Which task would you have done?- the marching or the pancake? - it would have been pancake for me! I didn’t think that Boston guy was ever going to make it!

The boat paddling task - omg, couldn’t believe how many people ended up in the water! And the Detroit lady who had to pee… ROTFL! RIGHT near another boat that was not even an AR boat!!!

Happy for the surfers to come in first. That dude seems SOOO sweet and in love. Not too disappointed to see the model and her guy go. They were fine, but clearly not a strong team.

Love how Phil keeps popping up this season BEFORE the pit stop - gotta love Phil!!!

I tried watching it online again, but there was some kind of glitch. When I tried to watch the full episode, it would only show a two-minute clip. Argh. This was Saturday, so maybe it’s fixed by now.

I would have liked to try the marching task, but that headmaster was one taskmaster! I thought I would die laughing when the mom peed in the river. And the boys in the other boat were hilarious. I’m not crazy about any team right now, but I do know that if I have to listen to hysterical crying this season, I’m gonna be irked! So far I’m loving the season.

My favorite team so far are the surfers, so I was happy they came in first.

I probably would’ve done the marching task. I couldn’t imagine having to run while flipping a pancake in a pan. I either would’ve dropped the pancake or been too slow to reach the finish line in time.

So far I’ve really enjoyed the season. Friday nights is a little tough to adjust to but I’m getting there. Nice part about this season for me is that there hasn’t been much in the way of celebrity casting. Most of the people there are fans of the show and the two couples that were sort of famous are the survivor couple and the surfer couple - and neither seems to be too full of themselves. Thus far the teams that have been eliminated were all ones I wasn’t sorry to see go - but at the same time wasn’t eager to see them go either. It will be interesting to see how they all fare as the fatigue starts to kick in - I get the sense that the flight attendants are on the verge of a breakdown along with TIm and Tejay.

I was glad to see the firefighters go last night. They were likable enough but they were never going to get anywhere with the one guy having that awful sprained ankle. It was painful just watching him limp through all the tasks! I didn’t want to see him make it worse by staying on his feet.

I agree that these teams are all pretty nice people (so far).

Sorry to see the third team leave, won’t say the name. I just watched the episode online, so its definately there, good luck youdontsay.

I think most people would think the general consensus is that you can reveal anything about an episode once it’s aired. If you know any results that have NOT been aired, please don’t share those!

So far we have STILL watched each episode on Sunday night. Just feels right!

That was a nasty looking ankle and wouldn’t likely heal too fast. He didn’t seem in the “best” shape either to begin with - probably would have put his team behind at some point soon.

Watching those sheep jump - hilarious! I never did really understand what the task fully asked them to do - besides have them in the sheep pen at the end.

Mr. Dentist is getting pretty cocky. WAY too early to feel so confident. Be glad of course, but there is no real advantage (in my mind) to having a number on your back as the team to beat. In this race, that can actually be a recipe for disaster - you will then be a target for any delay another team can put upon you!!! (she seems to be a sweetheart though).

Yes, but the dentists have the “get out of jail free” card. They can be sabotaged by other teams on one leg and still be in the race. I’ll have to see how this new wrinkle in the game plays out, but I’m not sure I like it.

This is true Shellfell! I guess there are two types of mentality on Amazing Race. The dentist mentality: anything less than 1st place is not good enough. Other player mentality: Do your best and just make sure you beat at least one team!

I am also watching on Sunday nights. Old habits do die hard!

The arrogance of Dr. Mr. Dentist is annoying the heck out of me. On the other hand, I’m also the one who will watch and as soon as someone gets cocky like he does, I shout at the TV, oh now you’ve ensured you won’t win! I have yet to watch a show where the cocky one prevailed. “I got this one in the bag!” - Whoops! Eliminated! “This challenge was made for me, I climb snow capped mountains in the nude all the time!” Slip, fall, ouch…eliminated!

That Boston firefighter’s ankle made me cringe. Holy smokes, it looked awful. I liked “them” but not enough to root for them.

Still not picking a favorite. I seem to be slow to warm up to teams the last few seasons. I sort of like the scientist women. They may not be the “strongest” but somehow I envision them going the distance.

I was dying with laughter watching the sheep jumping and leaping. I don’t think I’d ever seen anything like that before from a sheep!

The sheep bouncing around was hysterical. Teams had to learn that if they stayed calm and relatively soft-spoken then the sheep responded the way they wanted them to. The more animated and loud the contestants got, the more animated the sheep got.

I don’t like the dentist either, but I also don’t like that his arrogance won’t necessarily hurt him since they can finish last in a leg and still stay in the race.

Yes, I was having way too many laughs watching the ponies and the sheep. I loved Tim and Te Jay and all of the clothes they used to contain the sheep (to no avail)

Those ponies were nasty! I’m amazed that no one got hurt in that task, especially on that hill.

Loved seeing the sheep herding. So funny!

I have to say that I haven’t been grabbed by this season. Maybe it’s because the week before it started, the Canadian TAR ended and that was one of the very best seasons of TAR I’ve ever seen. Maybe I’ll be more engaged when there are fewer teams left.

Loved the sheep herding. And yes, I agree with several of you here - don’t like the cocky dentist.

OMG, I was sad that it was a non-elimination round!

They wouldn’t have been eliminated anyway because they have the save. I actually don’t mind them.

I was hoping that the mom and daughter would be last. That daughter is a PITA.

I wanted them to lose the save. This season has not been very fun, I’m not loving anyone. The surfers seem nice, guess I’ll route for them.

I was really annoyed that it was a non-elimination leg. I was hoping they’d have to burn the save and then be on a level playing field with everyone else.

Agreed. I like the scientists because one is a Carleton alum.
