I like your style, abasket.

I certainly hope Zoenette does not make the top 10. It would be sad for her to take a spot from a more deserving contestant.

WARNING: You may want to fast-forward through Zoanette’s (opening) performance, otherwise you may think you have an audio (and video) problem with your equipment!

Not sure I like the format for this season. How can you eliminate half the women tonight? Two easy picks going home… Zoanette and Adriana. But picking three more? It would likely be Janelle because Kree is also country and there is no contest between these two, imo. My favorites tonight were Kree and Candice. Then Amber. Too close to call who the other two going home might be between Angie, Aubrey, and Breanna.

Doesn’t seem fair if there are weaker performances on Wednesday night with the guys to “force” a balance of the sexes getting down to the top-10.

I used my iPad to vote last night. I was going to record Tuesday and Wednesday, but grew impatient, and I ended up having fun with this AI app that I downloaded. It automatically sync’d to my TV, even when I fast forwarded through commercials, so I could see their names, learn about their song, and other facts that popped up while they were singing.

Jshain, you have it right, Candice and Kree gave me goosebumps, a few others were very good or interesting, and a few like Zoanette and the Alaska girl were out of their league.

I think there are very few 16, 17. And 18-year olds that can sing a song with the kind of emotion and feeling like Candice. They just don’t have the experience in life to make it real. Well, most of them don’t have Candice’s vocal skills, either. Angie has a lot of the goods, so I’m rooting for her, but I’m worried that her range of songs is limited only because of her age. The young ones that do have life experiences that are advanced for their ages, like Jordan Sparks, who had a parent that was famous football player, have all the exposure that that brings (good and bad), and therefore have more emotions to tap into that allows them to connect with a song in a much more believable way.

Snowflake, I downloaded the app too and thought “how cool” that it “listened” to your tv to know what contestant you were watching and then provided info and updates on them - pretty cool - I did not however vote via the app - I prefer not to do any Facebook voting via the app - hate when that stuff shows up in my or other people’s feed. Did you happen to vote NOT using the FB way???

I just am never a fan of the girls as much as the guys - just my preference in music I guess. I am also NOT a country music fan so that takes at least 2 of the girls out. There are 2 or 3 that are sort of “clones” of each other that are in this top 10 so they may weed each other out.

That said, my top couple were Angie, (loved that she did the Colton Dixon song - though I’m not sure if she goes the Christian artist how well that will go over with fans), Aubrey and Amber (how many “A” girls are there!!!). It seems that Kree and Candace are being pimped quite heavily by the show but they are not my “type” of music preference.

Rumor is that they will take 5 girls and 5 guys and THEN there will be 2 wildcards (probably chosen by the judges) to make a top 12 - maybe a girl and a guy or maybe they would take whatever 2 they thought best.

Forgot about Tenna… she could also be in danger of going home. Hope there are a couple of wild card picks. Going from 20 to 10 seems a bit drastic at this stage of the season.

abasket, I had to log in with my FB account, but when I voted, I made sure it didn’t share my results or the fact that I used the app. I also hate getting junk spam on FB newsfeeds.

So Snowflake, it gave you the option to NOT have it posted???

That would be great.

I think it specifically asked me who I wanted to see my post and the options were something like everyone, just my friends, or just me, and I picked just me.

I think Nikki is the best judge Idol has ever had on the show. She’s honest, to the point, and tries to give the singers constructive criticism. She seems to really understand the commercial market. Love her or hate her, but she’s honest and doesn’t try to fluff her responses.

Burnell is IT. I adore him.

I cannot deal with the gospel performances and the judges over-the-top reactions. Sorry, that is just not for me - especially on this show.

I like Devin’s voice.

Charlie needs to go home. He is not mentally stable and he can’t sing.

I agree with nysmile on both counts. Devin is surprisingly poised for his age, and I like his voice.

It made me uncomfortable to watch Charlie’s near breakdown tonight. He clearly is not ready for the brutality of fame.

Agree about Charlie. The judges should’ve never let him get this far.

I didn’t love any of the guys tonight. I’m a big fan of Curtis and Vincent, but didn’t like their song choices. I would like to see Curtis UNDER-sing a song in the coming weeks.

Thought Cortez and Charlie were the weakest, followed by Paul. Guys going through: Lazaro, Curtis, Devin, Burnell and Vincent. I think Michael Buble or Harry Connick Jr. type of stuff fits Lazaro best. Elijah on the bubble but I like his style…

Okay, we just listened to Charlie. And we both thought he sounded pretty good. A little odd look and everything, but he sounded…pretty dang good. Fast forwarded through the breakdown, didn’t want to see that. Maybe we have bad taste! Maybe this competition is very tough for him, being so young, but…he sounded good. Crazy?

Finally watched this season of AI this week. I don’t know who to root for. No one seems to standout and has the x factor.

I feel very disappointed by some of the talented singers that they let go, who surely were more deserving than many who are left.

Charlie did not sound good. I don’t think he ever sounded good. Unfortunately, I think they’ve kept him around just for the backstory and for the possibility of a train wreck to be played out on TV.
