Well I’m ticked off cause we DVRd the show and it went over time so we missed the last few minutes! Something about a sing off next week? Gonna have to look it up.

I’m kind of "eh " on the results. One thing I can tell you is that some of these people REALLY need a stylist to get them more flattering clothing!!! And let’s include Mariah in that because her dress was a fashion. Disaster and definitely a family-tv-show disaster!!!

the sing off is going to be between the top gal and top guy that didn’t make it to the top 10. That person will be invited to go on tour with the top 10 this summer. I don’t think they make it into the finals, though.

What is the point of that?? The fans will not be at all attached to them if they haven’t been performing on the show for weeks?! That’s ridiculous IMO.

Also thought it was awful how they made those contestants stay sequestered in a back room for 90 minutes. The presentation/ arrangement tonight was great for the live audience- awkward for those of us watching it at home.

So I haven’t watched the show today (and didn’t read any of the current comments, just in case there was a hint). But I recorded the girls from Tuesday, and I disagreed a lot with the judges. They were complimentary to people who I didn’t think were that great, and slammed some that I thought were good. So my top 5 girls going through are: Breanna, Angie, Amber, Kree and maybe Candice.

Paul mentioned on Wednesday night’s show that he performed in Nashville with Lady Antebellum and Blake Shelton, and also managed to throw an encounter with Carrie Underwood into the discussion. I’m wondering if that’s what got him into the top-5? I thought he sounded terrible on Thursday night, particularly on those “big” notes.

Kree and Candice are now officially my front-runners. Curtis is a little too full of himself, calling one of his past performances “epic” during his Wednesday night interview.

I thought the way they announced the finalists was brilliant, considering Charlie’s meltdown the previous night. He was never singled out, he was one of five who were rejected.

Whatever his talent, I am relieved that he was eliminated. Even before Wednesday night, he was clearly fragile; kicking in my worry gene. His celebrity was sure to be short-lived, and I always worried what would happen when he was rejected. AI should quietly offer to pay for some counseling.

Well, the girls definitely out-shined the boys tonight. Although I think he is adorable and courageous, Lazaro was the weakest, imo. I was pleasantly surprised by Janell. She showed a lot more personality than I thought she had. And Kree is wonderful and reminds me a lot of Karen Carpenter in looks and voice.

I’ve only seen about 1/2 hr in total of this season’s Idol before tonight, and I really have to wonder if these were really the best ten of the thousands who auditioned. I thought they were all pretty weak, other than Candice and, to a lesser extent, Amber. It’s not that they’re bad, they’re just not great.

It was not her performance tonight that made me think of Karen Carpenter, she just has a smoothness to her voice that reminds me of her. And, of course, her hair is similar in a more updated way.

This season is terrible. I can’t understand why this group (other than a few exceptions like Kree) his gotten this far. There HAD to be better singers in the auditions. I remember better ones. What happened to the judges?

Tonight’s show should be renamed “Kelly Clarkson night”, with 3 of the 10 finalists singing songs that she sang during season 1.

I thought Candice’s performance was one of the best performances ever. She and Kree are the class of the field and I personally thought they were better than Amber. I’m not sure which guy will step it up and give these two ladies the most competition. Lazaro had his worst performance so far. Wish he would stick to Michael Buble type of songs. I will be surprised to see him go home though because he is still a huge fan favorite. Curtis is probably the most talented vocally but way too theatrical.

I guess I’d have to say Paul was the best guy tonight but still a huge drop-off from Candice, Kree, and Amber.

My votes are going to Candice and Kree-- two weeks running.

Okay, I think I agree with jshain tonght. Candice and Kree, but I liked Amber instead of Paul. He did pretty good this time, but since I didn’t think he should have made it into the top ten, I held that against him. I have to say, I think all of the top ten are pretty good overall. I see what musicmom meant about the smoothness of Janelle’s voice, very sweet.

So much can change at any point. I like Angie a lot. Usually, I end up wanting a guy to win, but I think the girls are so much better this year. Kree is going to be a superstar, no matter what.

All I know is that if someone doesn’t do an upbeat song instead of all these ballads, I’m OUTTA here! Wow, isn’t there one Adam Lambert, David Cook or James Durbin in the crowd to liven things up!!!

That said, Burnell remains my favorite. Missed his glasses and hat though tonight!!! Larazo was weak - he is adorable though - my guess is that this whole experience is WAY out of his comfort/experience zone in so many ways - perhaps he has been a bit sheltered. I plain old “don’t like” Curtis and I do not get Paul - I thought he was awful. Devin has an amazing tone - I’d love to see him do something more upbeat though and see how he performs.

I’m never a big girl fan - and I’m not a country fan - so…that leaves a couple of girls automatically on my bottom. I think Angie has a fabulous voice but I want to give her a haircut and knock her confidence down just a WEE bit - she seems a little overconfident! Amber seems the most current for me and the music I like.

How weird that Nicki was late! And FINALLY Mariah was covered up! She looked so pretty when she wasn’t all hanging out!!! (though I laughed when she said she couldn’t stand up cause her skirt was too tight!!!)

Well, it’s official. Even though I’ve been away from cc… I cannot get thru a season of AI without consulting my CC Panel Of Judges.

First off, put me in the camp that is very happy with Nicki as a judge - so substantive, who knew? And Keith as well. I get nothing much from Mariah but, as a friend of mine said, maybe that is because she is always the last to comment.

Last night (which I just watched courtesy of DVR; count me in the 60% Club (condense the show to 60% of its overdramatic self via FFWD) underwhelmed me, including my faves… who are all guys (Devin, Burnell, Lazaro). Lazaro was weak tonight; I hope he makes it through. But I fear that he and Paul may have been the weakest.

I’ll wait for next week to see the top 9 do a better job than most of them did tonight. And as for Kelly Clarkson Night (which it was), I felt none of them even came close to doing the songs as well as she had, and I didn’t even watch her season - just hear the clips tonight.
