<p>I’m disappointed. Adam had a whole level of talent beyond this show. I like Kris too, but I’d hoped for a different result.</p>
<p>I think the 2 hour show was slightly better than last year, but still WAY too long. And I felt that Allison didn’t really get to be showcased as much as she should have. Can you tell I was a big fan? :)</p>
<p>This season was, in general, a very good one. It will be hard to top it next year.
Can you believe next year will be NINE YEARS since this has started? Good thing it’s only on for a few months! Thanks everyone for your updates and excellent insights.

<p>I just found Adam more interesting. I wanted to hear him getting interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel, et al - Kris - cute - but not intriguing or particularly interesting.</p>
<p>Geez, I’m 0 for 3 in the reality show realm this season. I wanted Tara to win Biggest Loser, Gilles to win DWTS, and Adam tonight. I’m very depressed right now…</p>
<p>But, thank God I don’t ever have to hear Adam sing that horrible song ever again - LOL! He will do fine, there’s no doubt about that.</p>

Adam has been #1 on iTunes downloads, with Allison #2 when she was still in the running.</p>

<p>It’s going to be odd during the tour, when Adam is relegated to second banana. I don’t see how Kris can carry himself as a “star” compared with Adam (or Allison, for that matter). </p>
<p>I still don’t get how America voted for Megan over Alexis. </p>
<p>You can’t under-estimate the value of the tween vote – those girls can hit redial a thousand times without slowing down. I liked Adam, voted twice last night, and was done. </p>

<p>I agree with you BurnThis and will add that the judges/producers didn’t do Adam any favor by anointing him early on - I think some voters rebelled against feeling like Adam was being forced upon them. He got the special lighting, the smoke, the stairs, the Bono song, the Aerosmith song and he got to close the show too many times for it to be random. He also probably didn’t get the Gokey vote.</p>
<p>Our local FOX news has a reporter out there and they just did a long interview with Danny outside of the coliseum. He is really nice and it was a fun interview. He said " come on you think not having the title is going to hold Adam back" He was overwhelmed to sing with Lionel Richie. He addressed that goofy white jacket he wore a few weeks ago. He said it looked a lot better in the mirror and that it took him awhile to get used to how different he looked on tv than in real life. He said everyone kept telling him he looked so much skinnier in person. He also said he was relieved to be voted off because he could now talk about his late wife and the foundation he set up in her name without being accused of trying get votes. I remember someone awhile back someone thought he was arrogant; he always has come off as very genuine and gracious anytime he’s interviewed around here.</p>
<p>colby, one could theorize that Adam lost because people are homophobic (or Kris had the “Christian vote”), but I think that AI is ultimately … Pop Idol.

The vast majority of the live audience and the voting audience is young teen girls and pre-teen girls. Adam is too “weird” for them. Kris is certainly talented AND he is also of the mold that created David Cassidy (remember him),N’Sync, Jonas et al.</p>
<p>Having said all that, I would not put it past Bill O’Reilly to claim that he caused Adam to tumble because The Factor called attention to Adam’s sexual preference.</p>

<p>I voted for Adam. When it was down to 4, I voted for Adam and Kris. When it was down to 3, I voted for Adam and Kris. Last night I voted for Adam but I only got through about 4 times and I tried off and on for the whole voting time. I guess I made the mistake by voting for Kris to get to the finals. I think Danny may have beat Adam too though. People were voting for something other than just talent - you can’t beat them.</p>
<p>Last night I was pressing “redial” for a 1.5 hours (while I watched the Tivo replay of AI and then Dancing with the Stars finale).<br>
Not sure how many times that is – at least 70?</p>

If so, there could be some of that going on.</p>
<p>The tween girls love Adam. Bill O’Reilly & a certain pastor who likes to twitter, not so much. And a couple of the other voted out idols have let their issues with sexual identity slip out recently. </p>
<p>I don’t think most people really have a problem with Adam being gay, but the people who do have a problem with it were incredibly organized to vote.</p>
