<p>That made me cry. I actually think Tatiana is a better singer than Jasmine. </p>
<p>It was very nice that Anoop mentioned Eve Carson. I read that she was a big fan of his a cappella group, The Clefhangers, at UNC. I believe they sang at one of her memorial services.</p>
<p>I didn’t know until tonight that Kara graduated from Duke.</p>
<p>Most every girl at UNC is in love with the Clefhangers!! My daughter has every one of their CDs on her ipod.</p>
<p>I figured they’d put 2 women through since only 3 had made it through already. Just glad it wasn’t Tatiana. I’m sure the other contestants are glad too since I hear they’ll all be living in the same house…she would’ve driven them crazy.
When it got down to Matt & Anoop, I thought they might put them both through & was glad they did.</p>

<p>Anoop mentioned that today was a tough day in Chapel Hill because there was a memorial service today marking the one year anniversary of Eve Carson’s death. </p>
<p>I’m very happy that he made it through to the final group. I, too, had a feeling that they were going to keep both of them when I saw that they would be the final two left to hear their fate.</p>
<p>cartera, I agree with you about Jasmine’s nasally belt and also that Tatiana is a better singer. I honestly don’t have any regrets about their decision, though, because Tatiana, in my opinion, needs some help, honestly. I couldn’t see her emotionally surviving being a part of that final group and all living together. It’s pretty clear that she is disliked and, as annoying as she is, I find it very uncomfortable watching her ridiculed.</p>
<p>I’m just sorry that they couldn’t have made it a final 14 and kept Ricky, too. :)</p>
<p>The Russian accent was quite bizarre - although she carried off even when she was agitated. If they ever do a Boris and Natasha musical, she has a role. I hope she is putting on a show. She is a very pretty girl and has talent - it’s sad she is getting in her own way.</p>

<p>Thursday night is the big TV night at our house. Lots of things to record on the DVR. I think AI ran over because all of the sudden the TV switched to a different channel and wouldn’t let me switch to the last few minutes of AI. DH looked online a few minutes later, but the last pick(s) weren’t there yet. It sounds like they put 2 through: Anoop and Matt???</p>
<p>Frankly I was thrilled Simon found an “out” in regards to Tatiana: she sang the same song 3 times. She does have a better voice than Jasmine, but I was not looking forward to seeing more of her. I figured she wouldn’t win anyway so please get rid of her now. Such pitiful behavior, throwing herself at the feet of the judges so to speak.</p>
<p>Has Tatiana ever had an accent before? How does one sometimes have an accent and other times not?</p>
<p>I have to grudgingly admit that Tatiana is a talented singer, but if they had put her through to the final 13, I would have stopped watching the show until she got voted off. I just can’t stand all her theatrics.</p>

<p>I did not like the way the contestants sang songs they had done before. The ones who were sitting around in Groups 1 and 2 should have been able to work on another song for last night. Now that we have a top “13” they are going to have to have a new song each week.</p>
<p>I just thought it was incredibly lazy of all who appeared in the wild card show not to have a new song. My D who does muscial theatre thought it was crazy they didn’t have new material. She easily learns a new song in a couple of days if she needs to.</p>
<p>I thought Tatiana’s “new” accent was Puetro Rican so she would sound like Jorge.

<p>Scott, the blind young man, was an undergrad along with my D at Arizona State in the School of Music a few years back. He was widely known as a young piano prodigy. He started as an undergrad I believe when he was 15 or 16. He has played nationally and internationally. The judges are right, it will probably be a treat to hear him play, though we heard only classical back then.</p>
<p>I am looking forward to hearing him play. AI is packaging him in a gimmicky way but that doesn’t diminish his talent. I also like the fact that he is a true musician. I don’t know if anyone remembers but a few years ago a news anchor had a music studio package him. He had a terrible voice but by the time they had mixed everything, written music for him, added the backups, etc. he sounded pretty decent.
Seems like lots of musicians now are ultra packaged. I like to hear of singers who write their own songs or actually play instruments.</p>
