New American Idol thread

sorry, I don’t know what the charge is but it can’t be very expensive to cast one or two votes.

There is no charge.

ok then, I’ll make some more calls.

If you are an AT&T Wireless customer, you simply:

 1. Text the word “Vote”
 2. Send it to the 4 digit number of your choice:
5701-Danny 5702-Kris 5703-Adam

I don’t know how it works if you’re not an AT&T customer. I like texting it because you don’t have to deal with a busy signal. Eventually, when your vote goes through, you receive a text message confirming it. Really easy. And I’m technically challenged :)

ebeeeee, go to ricky dot org and you can see video there. I thought both Adam’s were great. But that back up singer for Cryin was in the way.

I guess you all repressed the traumatic memory of last week’s Dream On, cause people, that was screaming. Adam did Aerosmith proud.

Adam is amazing. He is original and makes each song his own. Danny was pretty good tonight also. Kris just did the same thing to Heartless as he did to She Works Hard For the Money. It was interesting the first time but he needs to use a different riff. I pick Adam and Danny in the final. Though I think all will get record deals.
Calls are free and text messaging is the usual charges under your plan.
What do we have to suffer through tomorrow before we will know the results? Those poor kids!

As much as I love Adam, and think he should win hands down, I thought he screamed too much tonight. Kris’ second song I loved. To me that was the best performance of the night. I think Danny should go even though I actually liked him tonight.

Contrary to what the judges said, this was not a good night for Adam. He could probably stand up there and belch, and the judges would fall all over themselves to praise him. … I thought Danny was wonderful, especially his second song, and Kris pleasantly surprised me. Any one of these three could win and I wouldn’t feel bad.

Missed the entire show tonight. Is there a place on-line to catch any of the performances?

What 2331clk said… about Adam.

LOVED Adam’s version of One. Not as fond of his Cryin’, but then Aerosmith is my favorite band of all time so I’m partial to Steven Tyler. Called in as many votes as I could.

Can’t stand Danny. Hoping for Adam & Kris.

And, blankmind, I WISH that memory could be repressed. I think my trauma is permanent.

I don’t love Adam - and I can’t see him as the next American Idol that would be able to record multi hit albums. If it weren’t for his over-the-top antics while singing his song - not to mention the number of times he sticks his tongue out - I don’t think he would be as popular as he is. Also, I think it was inappropriate of Simon to mention numerous times at the end of the show that people who like Adam should vote for him and not automatically assume he will win. He mentioned this more than once, and IMO it is telling people who to vote for. I also think the judges comments have been biased towards him from the start. I think Kris and Danny have more mass appeal than Adam does. However, as previous Idol winners have proven, the one who wins is often not as successful as the runner ups.

I liked Kris on Apologize and Heartless. Didn’t like either of Dannys. Liked the beginning of One but then it seemed like Adam just screamed it. Just not my musical taste. Didn’t love Crying but it isn’t my favorite Aerosmith either. I like the ballads. Must be because I was a child of the 70s and my parents were hippies. :)

Yeah, it’s kind of embarrassing at this point the way the judges are slobbering all over Adam. I didn’t care for him last night. He’s become a caricature of himself. Scream, scream, scream.

Adam has mad vocal talent but don’t like his constant screaming. And yes I think it is screaming, on pitch screaming, but screaming nonetheless.
I couldn’t listen to Adam for more than 5 minutes unless it is his ballad-type songs.
Kris I love!!
And of course Adam got the pimp spot of going last. Surprise Surprise.

I’ve been a fan of Adam’s–really taking notice of him beginning the “Ring of Fire” week.
That said, I didn’t enjoy his performances as much last night. “One” started out beautifully, then he switched it up and lost me.

I’ve never been high on Aerosmith, so although I thought he did a good job of it, the performance wasn’t as intriguing for me as many others he’s given us. All in all, I felt that Kris really shined last night, particularly on “Heartless”. He will be quite commercially successful, win or lose. Actually, all 3 of them will.

I honestly don’t know which 2 of the 3 will make the finals, but I do believe Adam should be one of them.

It seems Danny and Kris could make it big in the Christian music market. I’m sure they are hoping for more mainstream success, but they could be successful in the smaller niche - or combine the two.

I think Adam’s future is on the stage–he’s very dramatic, his voice is powerful, and he has an amazing, charismatic presence. But I’m with those of you who can’t see him as a recording artist. I’d buy a ticket to see him on Broadway in a heartbeat, but I doubt I’d buy an album.

Danny is OK, but in kind of a Rubin Studdard soulful way. Will it sell? Not me. I would buy Kris’ white boy acoustic stuff, I love it. Adam is scary in so many ways. Don’t know if I would buy an album of his stuff, though I will continue to read about him in the celebrity rags. Did you see “Entertainment Weekly’s” cover & story?
Hope Kris wins.

My take is that these three guys are all so incredibly talented, they’ll have great musical careers no matter where they finish on American Idol.
