New Cell Phone?

I am finally going to have to upgrade my droid incredible 2 which I love, but it is over 3 years old and starting to run slow. I am considering the Droid mini. Any suggestions or comments about phones you like?

Am impressed with the advertised camera and flash with the iPhone 5S. Also intrigued by the windows phones, since we are a PC Windows family.

Currently have iPhone 5. Am happy enough with it.

No need to apologize N77–we have always loved PCs–interesting venturing into Apple turf. We have anew iPad mini that we like for travel.

I’m sorry.

I like the 5S and used to like the S4. Have not heard of the Droid Mini.

I currently have the 5C and really like it. It is scrutinized for being the cheap iPhone but I think the plastic exterior is really good for those who tend to drop their phone. :stuck_out_tongue: No more cracked phones.

My stepdad recently switched over from iPhone family to Samsung Galaxy family. He really loves his phone as well but notes that the new phone is useful in terms of work versus the iPhone. He liked both, but prefers Galaxy for work.

My sibs and other relatives are split between iPhones and other smart phones, sometimes within the same family. One of the nice things about the new windows phones is that it runs the same programs, installed in the phone that you have in most pcs–Microsoft office, etc.

Curious about why you don’t think the iPhone 5c would crack if dropped. The regular 5 is pretty sturdy but I did ding the aluminum shell when I dropped it from a waist level to concrete.

The one drop test of the two new iPhones showed a cracked screen from dropping the 5C but no similar damage from dropping 5S.

I really like my Droid Razr Maxx HD. Very long battery life.

The new Nexus 5 from Google is due out in a month or two; it might be worth looking into if you want to stay within the Droid ecosystem.

The 5C’s exterior (back, not the screen) is plastic versus the 4/4S which I believe was glass I was told. I jumped from 4 to 5C so I have no experience with 5 but many people I have encountered with the 4 and 4S have cracked backs usually after one drop lol. Note: I am still in college so most of us broke college students don’t jump at the newest phone/skip generations so I actually haven’t seen that many people with the 5 but a few jumped on the 5S recently. I’m the only person I know with the 5C and even in my hands it feels very sturdy, moreso than the 5S. It’s also light so that’s a plus.

Edit: Sorry, I didn’t realize you were talking solely about the screen. I was talking about the back. I always thought the screen would be fragile regardless.
