<p>Dr. Pinchas Cohen has been named the new dean of the USC Davis School of Gerontology effective August 1. Dr. Cohen will hold the Kugel Dean’s Chair in Gerontology and will act as executive director of the Ethel Percy Andrus Gerontology Center.</p>
<p>Cohen earned his M.D. degree with highest honors from the Technion School of Medicine in Israel and was a resident and fellow at Stanford, after which he spent seven years at the Univ. of Pennsylvania and later at UCLA.</p>
<p>A prolific author, Dr. Cohen has published more than 250 papers and his work has been cited by the NY Times. He serves on the boards of several professional journals and societies, including the American Federation for Aging Research.</p>
<p>His honors include the EUREKA Award, Transformative Research Award and the Glenn Award.</p>
