<p>I just found this article on the Scroll about Deerfield’s new music director. I’m glad that he’s looking to expand the choral department. (my specialty :)) I’ve always gotten the sense that Deerfield has a very athletic culture, and hopefully this new director will help create a larger musical culture!</p>

<p>ifax-why do you get the impression that DA has a very athletic culture? My d is not an athlete by any stretch of the imagination, her co-cir is classical ballet/dance. She has become a strong “cheerleader” for the girls soccer, boys water polo and is excited about attending her first hockey game, jv and varsity.</p>
<p>She fits in very well and gets alone with everyone. Just asking?</p>

First, I don’t think a non athlete wouldn’t fit in. But where do I get the sense Deerfield has an athletic culture? Well, I’ve seen posts again and again about Deerfield being very athletic. This is not where I get the bulk of my information. Trust me, I DO NOT read “The Bro Bible.” I found that page through a google search. But back to the point about Deerfield having an “athletic” environment. I think that Deerfield has an athletic environment because of the feel I got from it during my interview, and posts I’ve read on here. And I don’t mean “athletic” in a bad way.</p>
