The 911 operator told Zimmerman “we don’t need you to do that” when he said he was following Martin. It’s on the tape.

“There is a lot to know here that is probably not going to be known …”

as a result of the bungled police investigation.

“Reports that say that something hasn’t happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don’t know we don’t know.”

Here is at least something about the neighborhood crime.

[Zimmerman?s Twin Lakes Community Was on Edge Before Trayvon Shooting - The Daily Beast](<a href=“Zimmerman’s Twin Lakes Community Was on Edge Before Trayvon Shooting”>Zimmerman’s Twin Lakes Community Was on Edge Before Trayvon Shooting)

Actually, I’ve always thought there was a lot of truth to what Rumsfeld said.

Dadx, we can listen to the screaming and the shot; it can be heard on one of the 911 calls. I have listened, and can assure you that prolonged screaming preceded the shot. We don’t know who was screaming-- Zimmerman says it was him, Martin’s parents say it was him.

I don’t know about you, but I am comfortable hanging the racist label on someone who not only calls 911 to report a teenager for Walking While Black, but also calls 911 for an 8-year-old Walking While Black. He sees a black youth and automatically assumes he’s up to no good. If you asked Zimmerman, he’d probably say he wasn’t a racist, but if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.

CF is right, dadx - the 911 tape very clearly has screaming, then shot, then no screaming. That sequence can’t be disputed.

One of the witnesses (keeping in mind there are no witnesses to the actual shooting) says he saw the fight, and the man in red (Zimmerman) was on the ground getting pounded. He said he was going to call 911, then went into his house and upstairs. From the upstairs, he looked out the window and saw the two people reversed, with the one who had been doing the beating lying still on the groud, and the man in red on top.

Another witness says he was walking his dog, and saw two men, one was alone on the ground, screaming, while the other was standing. He also said it was too dark to tell what colors anyone was wearing, or even which man was black and which one white. His dog ran, he chased him, heard the gunshot, the screaming stopped; and by the time he returned the one on the ground was dead.

When you get conflicting stories like that, you really have to leave it to experienced detectives to figure out what’s what. Part of the problem now is that the normal half life for accurate memory is 48 hours, which is long since expired.

Racist much?

But do you?

With a cell phone? No. It should take 5 minutes with a cell phone, if that.

Interesting. If it’s real and from the night in question, I don’t see too many injuries (none…). He could have cleaned the blood and such, but if he had been punched in the face and had his head slammed into the ground like he says, I would expect to see something. But hey, I’m no doctor. It says he went to the hospital first and was bleeding from the back of the head. I don’t see anything, but the hospital reports should be able to prove this one way or the other.

Americans are caring about a White-on-Black incident. That is positive progress.

This is a common point of confusion. “Robbery” is when someone steals something directly from you: “Your money or your life!” Typically you can describe a robber.

“Burglary” is when the sneak into your house and steal your stuff. I’ve been burglarized a number of times, and I couldn’t describe the burglars. My son was robbed, and described the robber.

Not really. Because the only reason I’d guess 70% of the people even care is because of it. It shouldn’t matter.

You can listen to it here: http://www.sanfordfl.gov/investigation/911/call3.wav – you can also clearly hear the shot on this tape.

I just saw up to date photos of Zimmerman as 5’8, 50lbs lighter and wearing a suit & tie. The pix of Treyvon was him as a 6’2 18 year old. These photos certainly don’t change anything, but it does aggravate me that different medias opt to sway public opinion with photos.

Someone needs to decide if being 1/2 white & 1/2 hispanic/black/asian makes you white or ???

Why ?

Trayvon was a 6’0 160 lb. 17 year old. I’m not sure what your point is? It is true that in the most commonly printed photo of Zimmerman he looks pudgy, whereas in the police video when he was taken to the police station he looks muscular and fit. My guess is that George outweighed Trayvon, but that’s all academic considering only one of them had a gun, isn’t it? Again, I’m not sure of your point.

And I don’t care what race either of them was. Trayvon was a 17 year old. Zimmerman was a wannabe with an adolescent fantasy of being a hero gettin’ the 'bad guy." Do we really need to know anything more?

romani, I just saw that video too. It’s very instructive.

Zimmerman says that he had no choice but to kill an unarmed kid. He was in a fight for his very life.

And yet, a short time later, there’s no sign of this epic battle. There are no bruises, no visible blood on his person or his clothing. Remember the broken nose? Why isn’t there blood all over his shirt? And the gash on the back of his head which would have required stitches if Z had gone to the hospital? Head wounds bleed profusely, and yet there’s no blood on his head or the back of his jacket.

Zimmerman is a hispanic democrat. It’s not a white on black attack.

I was under the impression that Zimmerman said he was struggling with Martin on the grass when he shot in self-defense. If they were rolling around together at the time of the shooting, why doesn’t Zimmerman have Martin’s blood on him?

We’re also hearing that the detective who recommended arrest doubted Zimmerman’s story because Zimmerman said he was in the wet grass and Martin was on top of him, beating his head into the sidewalk. So they’re facing each other, with feet on the grass and heads over the sidewalk. If you shoot someone who’s on top of you, you’d push them off to get up. Yet when the police went out there, it was in Martin who was lying face down, with his feet on the sidewalk and his face down in the grass. So who not only flipped him over, but moved him around so that his feet were on the sidewalk and his head in the grass? I don’t know, that’s just what I’m hearing bothered the detective at the scene. I hate to admit it, but I think think this is a dramatic story, but also the sheer CSI-ness of it is riveting.
