New Details in the Zimmerman-Martin Controversy

As it turns out, Zimmerman was correct. He “knew” this kid was trouble, and he was. Just look at how much trouble he’s caused Zimmerman and the Sanford police force. Zimmerman’s not going to work because of all the harassment he’s being subjected to. Perhaps he could recover lost wages and such from the Martin family. After all he’s innocent, right?

He was WWB – walking while black. That’s plenty of grounds for suspicion in some people’s mind, especially when there’s a hoodie involved.

Also, Zimmerman said something like, “They always get away” – referring to a string of burglaries in the neighborhood. He apparently decided that he was going to be cop, judge, jury, and executioner.

I think Zimmerman watched “Walking Tall” a few too many times … and didn’t realize he wasn’t in the theatre that night.

I was just about to say New Hope, that Vigilante’s are only good in the movies, and only really good when played by Clint Eastwood.

Well, this poor family, at least they got enough people to pay attention to the shoddy police work to get a real investigation. It won’t bring thier son back, though. And that poor girl on the phone with him. How scarring.

This is why the police should investigate, full forensics, all shootings. ALL. There should be no doubt. If Zimmerman was innocent, he would have been protected by an investigation, not that he was anywhere close to innocent.

This gated community was racially mixed - 50% white, 25% black, 25% Hispanic. There is no reason that a black teenager should look out of place. I could understand being suspicious of someone who was skulking around, but Trayvon was just walking and talking on the phone. And it was only around 7 pm - surely not prime time for burglaries?

As many others have pointed out, when an unarmed person is shot and killed on the street, the police investigate. Not being skeptical when the shooter says “Hey, it was self defense?” Testing the victim for drugs but not the shooter? Making minimal effort to identify the victim? Ignoring contents of the 911 call? What kinds of investigative techniques are those?

Did you hear the racial slur used by Z on the 911 call, immediately preferred by a bleeped F word? One of his defenders claimed today on TV he really said ‘goon’.

Add to that neglecting to interview the two women who lived in the house whose yard was the crime scene. These women say that they made a number of calls to different police officials and no one ever got back to them. They started speaking to the local media a couple of weeks ago.

And they did not interview Treyvon’s girlfriend.

I heard the tape played on TV, but couldn’t make out what was said.

NYMomof2, that’s the great ambiguity that makes me question Zimmerman’s credibility; by any reasonable standard, Martin didn’t really stand out at all. So why was Zimmerman suspicious?

[Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com](<a href=“Video News - CNN”>Video News - CNN)

Well, it appears some loonies have put a bounty on Zimmerman. Yes Sanford investigators, this is what happens when you don’t do your job. Fortunately there’s still time to remedy this situation. Just do your job. And stop saying “Witnesses back Zimmerman.” It’s the DA’s job to decide whether to prosecute … not yours.

You know, I’ve been thinking of how different things would be if some Zimmerman-type chased down SCJ Clarence Thomas on a DC street, and shot him dead.

So trayvon if he defended himself, and hit Zimmerman, then he did nothing wrong in that case. He was being stalked by a crazy guy. So Zimmerman created the situation and then claims self defense? He was the aggressor, not the victim. But hey, guess if a person says it was self defense, that’s enough. Scary

It’s really hard to figure out what actually happened in this case…

all I am really confident of right now is that the morons calling for vigilante “justice” are not helping anything.

Are you prepared for a society where some strange person can follow you or your child for no reason other than he thinks you or your kid are suspicious. If you defend yourself he can shoot you and claim self defense?

When I see a kid killed for no reason by some cowboy, I just want to cry.

If Zimmerman had exercised even the slightest level of common sense, a young man would not be dead today.

This was so completely senseless. Zimmerman followed Trayvon in his car because he considered him suspicious. The confrontation could not have happened if Zimmerman had not left his car. His claim is that he left his car so that he could read the street sign and tell the police where he was. Is it really believable that this man did not know the names of the streets in his gated community, when he clearly spent much of his free time patrolling the community?

When the police are as racist as those in Sanford, there is not much chance for a thorough investigation in anything except white on white crime.

NY, not even that- but can’t you really not see the signs from your car? You might have to turn your brights on, but the whole point of a street sign is that you can see it FROM YOUR CAR? It just doesn’t make sense.

Would anyone trust THIS police department to do real police work now? Isn’t it possible they are now part of a criminal conspiracy to cover it up?

I mean, police departments do make mistakes. It goes with the territory. But if Zimmerman claimed that his shirt was bloodied in the fight, not to impound the shirt? Not to call any of the numbers on Trayvon’s cellphone? Not to look for the parents? Not to talk to the witnesses? Not to talk with the girlfriend? Did someone instruct them NOT to investigate?

Somebody please… Call the real police!!!
