Does anyone know if the New England Young Writers’ Conference at the Bread Loaf Campus at Middlebury (the 4 day conference) is competitive/prestigious?

Does it look good on a college application?

Thanks!

No, and not really.

Funny how the homepage says, “Applications for 2011 must be postmarked by November 18th, 2009!”

The application page says it is taking place in May 2010 but the 2011 registration deadline was November 2010.

It looks like you’re out of luck, no matter how you interpret this madness.

Dear Term of Service809 - Unfortunately, the website is a little muddled, but the conference is alive & well - I spoke with the director last week. She contacts the applicants and attendees via mail and private e-mail. You may also reach her by phone & e-mail.

Also, I will say Yes & Yes to your questions; IMHO, if the school was good enough for Robert Frost, (and quite a list of other highly regarded authors), it’s good enough for my students! Best wishes -
