New essay idea

I had a fantastic class this year, AP Environmental Science. It was a class of 9 students that became a family and we had a teacher that I became very close too. In my school, this was a challenging class (despite it being an “easy” AP). I’ve never done well in science, so I worked really hard in this class and managed a 3 on the AP and B+ final average. I wanted to write about my experiences in this class and how they encouraged me to try hard and led me to be passionate about the environment and possibly pursue a career in something of the sort. Any comments?

Did you guys do any field trips? Caves? Museums? Collecting from a pond? Air pollution experiment? Any one of those could provide an opening paragraph to your essay. For example:
We had installed our air samplers a week earlier, and now was the moment we were going to see the results. I opened our homemade sampler, made with filter paper and a battery-operated fan. Would I see something that would disgust me? Actually, I was surprised when the filter paper - while not totally clean - seemed to have only a smattering of dust. Oh no, I thought. This is not too interesting. But we took it back to the lab for analysis. And what we found was more than disgusting: traces of sulfur dioxide. This, when combined with moisture in the air, created sulfuric acid - so-called acid rain. Acid was coming from the sky. I was shocked. For what seemed like forever, I stared at the results of the analysis. And even though I had never done that well in my science classes, that moment triggered an interest in thinking about a career in environmental science…

So you can say something about the topic in an interesting way, and also say a lot about you, as well.
