New Financial Aid really as good as Princeton's?

<p>Princeton has not counted home equity for a few years now. This helps those who have seen their homes appreciate but whose incomes have not. Some parents have downsized or have relocated to fund their kid’s education. Others have taken out loans that they can barely meet the payments on.
Did Yale enact this policy as well?</p>

<p>Yale’s new financial aid policies did not include any exemptions on home equity, as far as I’m aware. The major change was the elimination of family contributions for those families making less than $45,000, and a large decrease in family contribution for those families making $45,000 to $60,000. Right now, some Yale students are working to get the university to decrease the required student contribution each semester as well.</p>
