But the threads are in a “box” that is now much narrower, with just lots of empty blue space on either side. I use the old classic look, and the lighter area with useful info is narrower with the dark blue areas of blank nothingness on either side much larger.

Yes, why do we have the dark blue areas? They should be eliminated or greatly reduced in order to increase the thread content area. Please change it back.
