New global engineering rankings!!

<p>Just checked the QS World University Rankings page and found out they just published a new set of engineering rankings for each engineering specialty (well actually only 1) Computer Science & Information Systems, 2) Civil & Structural Engineering, 3) Chemical Engineering, 4) Electrical Engineering and 5) Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing). Hard to imagine how they could even compare such programs around the globe though.</p>

<p>On a side note, do you think these rankings are more accurate, or are US News engineering specialty rankings more accurate?</p>

<p>the NRC rankings would probably be the most accurate of the three</p>

<p>Tries too hard to be internationally inclusive. American dominance in most engineering fields is absolutely massive. Oxford that high? British delusion.</p>

<p>Look at the methodology. They ask individuals to name 10 domestic and 30 international schools they consider to be top programs. Then they send the survey primarily to US-based individuals. Of course that will be internationally biased.</p>

<p>The employer scores are also a joke. They basically ask people off the street the top schools in the US, then record their answers. That’s how Harvard breaks the Top 5 in every category.</p>
