Current and prospective college students with food allergies may benefit from a new site launched by the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network. The web based program “provides prospective college students with contact information for college representatives who can answer questions about food allergy management in their schools. Visitors may also search for student ambassadors who are students with food allergies who can provide insight on campus living at their colleges.” The website is supported by a grant from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. As a parent dealing with food allergies, I can say how glad I am for this new resource and hope CCrs may benefit or sign up as ambassadors to help.

That’s REALLY cool! I totally could have used this.

I can’t imagine how scary it must be for parents to send their food allergic kids off to college. I have a good friend with a son who has fatal peanut and tree nut allergies and she is worried every day of her life. And he’s only in 4th grade.

That fist link didn’t work. It is [FAAN College Network - FAAN College Network](http://www.faancollegenetwork.org). If you know a college student who is coping with food allergies, please encourge him or her to consider being a student ambassador. Prospective students will really appreciate their wisdom and advice!
