New I Phone

The wait was worth it. I’m in now.

[Apple - iPhone](iPhone - Apple)

Pity those poor fools who stood in line outside an Apple store for days for the first generation…

I don’t get that “Gotta have the latest gizmo at any cost” mentality either. D will have one as her B-day present (shhh, please do not tell her). Too bad it comes with the evil AT&T, but that’s pretty much the only carrier that has signal almost anywhere on her future college campus.

I’m tempted, but Blackberry is also coming out with a new device this summer (AT&T) which looks pretty cool and is more email friendly. I just have to decide what my priorities are since I have a work Blackberry. Possibly time to do IPhone for my personal device.

Iphone is so much cooler than a blackberry! At 3G and $199, the Iphone will take over the world.

I think I have to get one now, too!

How much does the 3G service cost? This sounds like the marketing philosphy used to sell razor blades - give away the razor and make a fortune on the blades. Unless the 3G service is cheap, I’d rather just have WiFi.

Dataplan will be $30. Phone plans will be the normal array of ATT plans.

If you are wanting a serious email device, Blackberry is far superior even if not as “cool”.

My RAZR is on it’s last leg and I’ve been scouting AT&T for a replacement - but I don’t know if I can justify this beauty. With our family plan, the kiddos would be a tad “miffed” to think of momster running around with an iPhone! Come to think of it, that’s almost enough incentive…

^ LOL…yeah, ask your kids to show you how to use some features on your new iPhone, and watch 'em really scoff…;)

Vulture that’s THE reason to get an iPhone. I got one in October and my children have been jealous ever since! I do love the dang thing–and it is so great to sync with my Mac. technology-wise, this will probably be the last time my kids ever think I’m cool. S1 is going to get the new iPhone, and I will be old news—again!

I seriously do not want to look at email.

We have Sprint so I’m looking toward

Instinct
Diamond
Raphael (Diamond with slide out keyboard)

I don’t know how I’ll choose

so how many songs will this thing hold?
I thought about getting DS an iPod for graduation but maybe I’ll get him one of these.

There’s an 8 Gb and a 16 GB. 8 GB is about 2000 songs. 16 GB is about 4000 songs. Assuming each song is 4 MB which is typical for a ~4 minute song.

barrons. I would advise you on returning your newly bought iphone. the next generation will be in stores soon.

And G3 is just a type of service. Its faster. Its like saying do you want a B connection on your WiFi or a G? You want the G because its faster. G3 is faster. G2 is slow.

Anyways Iphones are about to get major competition later this year. Google just came out with a brand new OS for those smart phones and it blows away all competition. AND they partnered with LG, Samsung, Nokia, etc… already.

It’s not even for sale yet so I don’t have one. Yet.

Pity? My iPhone-toting boyfriend is a professor of computer engineering. He wouldn’t accept any pity for having the best technology he can at any given moment, no matter how briefly it remains the state of the art. (And if anyone knows what he’s getting into by buying the expensive state of the art, it’s him.)

Me – I’m cheap. Work gives me a blackberry for free, so that’s the end of my comparison shopping. :)

iphone was never state of the art. phones like that existed prior to the iphone. it was just never promoted like the iphone or targetted the US market.

go to korea or japan. their phone technology is atleast 4-12 months ahead of the us.

For those of us who think Jobs is even worse than Gates, what’s the hottest mobile phone/music thing/camera/PDA on the market?
