New Jahi McMath OP-ED from LA Times

I think her atty told her to lay low, but now the coffers are running dry…

Those terms and conditions say its against their TOS to collect for lay-away. Somehow that struck me as a propos of this situation… :stuck_out_tongue:

<a href=“Family Of Jahi McMath Petitioning To Have Her Declared 'Alive' - CBS San Francisco”>http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2014/10/01/family-of-jahi-mcmath-petitioning-to-haver-her-declared-alive/</a></p>

Oh for heavens sake. Rising from the dead? Maybe on Halloween…

Sheesh! jym, you are onto something.

This is getting more ghastly by the week.

Call me a cynic, but maybe the family wants jahi to be ‘alive’ in order to file for disability on her behalf…

^^^ That was my first thought, and/or for medical coverage.

I figured there was some financial reason to do so, I’m guessing you are correct. So can you un-die? I’ll start digging up granny now.

I’d love to see my mom again. Shes only been dead for 10 years. Can I bring her back without a seance?

They want to bring her back to CA and they want her to qualify for disability benefits when she arrives. This should be interesting.

It would be nice to be able to see the video that they showed some reporters showing her respond to her mom.

Dolan showed the videos but didn’t allow then to be duplicated. They’re described here. They were very short.

http://www.contracostatimes.com/breaking-news/ci_26651742/jahi-mcmath-attorney-shows-video-he-says-proves</a></p>

Bingo:

They are not stupid. I don’t know why people keep acting like they are dumb. Drives me nuts!

So…wait. The head of Neurloogy at Rutgers stated that Jahi has an intact Brain an circulation to her brain?

The one they are quoting is Phillip DeFina from International Brain Research. He did say tests were done at Rutgers… I think they go to court this week. We’ll see.

This Philip DeFina? <a href=“Meadowlands hospital neuroscientist fired over controversial autism treatment - nj.com”>Meadowlands hospital neuroscientist fired over controversial autism treatment - nj.com;

The use of hyperbaric oxygen is controversial - its been suggested for all sorts of things (brain injuries/concussions, etc) Not aware of any compelling supportive research.

Where is the citation of/from DeFina? His degree is from the Fielding Institute, an on-line program with some good and some not-so-good graduates in Clinical psychology/neuropsychology. The fact that he puts “Dr” in front of his name, and simultaneously puts "Ph.D. " at the end is a bit troublesome, as its redundant and not typically done by people with this degree.

“It shows she can rapidly respond to a command … it’s not a fluke,” said Phillip DeFina, the chairman of the International Brain Research Foundation. Tests and examinations of Jahi have been performed at Rutgers University in New Jersey with brain researchers and neurologists reviewing and performing them, Dolan said. Those working with the International Brain Research Foundation include Elena Labkovsky, who performed an EEG on Jahi, Cuban neurologist Dr. Calixto Machado and Dr. Charles Prestigiacomo, chair of the department of neurological surgery at Rutgers.DeFina, who joined Thursday’s presentation by video, said an MRI shows Jahi’s brain is intact and that there is blood flow to it. He said tests show Jahi does not fit the criteria for brain death, though he would not say if that means she is in a persistent vegetated state or some other state."
