<p>Short answer: No.</p>
<p>Long answer: just because it is in NJ, people badmouth it. Seriously, NJIT is a great school, especially for engineering, and it gives a lot of scholarship money, provided you can get in. NJIT is considered one of top NJ students’ “safeties”–a lot of people drop places like Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, and Rice because the scholarship is so good here and they know that they can get a real quality education. But it’s important to see if the campus and environment is your style, just like at any college. If you’re unhappy, it’ll never work out.</p>
