I have gotten housing in the new leonardtown apts. Can anyone with knowledge on the subject tell me about what the area is like and what the room sizes are like there? Thank You.

I have lived in the New Leonardtown apartments. I lived in a single. When you enter your apartment, you get a living room, a kitchen, a dining table, a closet. In your room, is the usual-desk, chair, bed, drawers/closet. It is mostly medium size and a bathroom. You should check the floor plan on the UMD Res Life website for Leonardtown. Also, you are on the other side of campus. Meaning you have a further walk to your classes. I did not enjoy being Leonardtown because of that and I felt I was missing out not being close to my classes and be on the South Campus side.

Thank you so much for the info

I agree it is a longer walk.

Lived there many moons ago…yes, a longer walk for most majors - not bad for engineering/science majors. You get used to it though - in my day it was generally quieter than dorms for studying, but still accessible to social life when you want - it’s closer to frat parties.
