New Living Room furniture

I have never had to restuff a piece of furniture!

I find that leather is cool in the summer - I mean we have AC so we are not dripping with sweat on the couch. And in the winter it may be cool but not COLD - and that’s what lap blankets are for!!

OP you probably already know this, but tighter weave fabrics are considered more resistant to cats.
Also - there are different qualities of leather, and I suspect the noticeability of scratches, etc. may depend on the quality. I have a friend who got a fairly inexpensive not natural (maroon?) colored leather sofa. Her dogs were able to kind of scratch the color off pretty quickly, and it just looked bad. Dr Google says full grain and top grain leather are the 2 best.

Yes, furniture items covered in fabrics that have a sisal-like texture are cats’ favorite scratch posts!

In childhood, we had a siamese cat who totally destroyed the end of a love seat with her scratching. When my parents got a new one, the anchored the stand of a tall scratching post under the back leg of the loveseat. That worked, phew.

They are both nice, but the leather one reminds me of our waiting room couch!

Will the cat possibly ever have an “accident” on the couch that might stain the fabric one?
