New MacBook Pro-tutorials/help

<p>Hi,
I’ve been using iphone for about 6 months since our computer died. I wanted a MAC because I have had several problems with viruses etc, the H and S have always come to the rescue. Son loves his MAC and I have heard it is easier to use. Husband didn’t agree or disagree. </p>

<p>Well it’s birthday/anniversary very soon and I have no need or wish for anything. I got time off work so H & I can get away soon and that is all I wanted. Husband surprised me with a MacBook Pro this morning. :). So I am reading the little books and watching some tutorials. </p>

<p>Suggestions on You tubes, on line resources on how to use? So far I have gmail and bookmarked CC.</p>

<p>The MacBook is silver so appropriate for anniversary. Husband will be playing golf 3 days, one of which is his dream course-Pebble Beach. I almost feel I received the more thoughtful gift. Well I have a new toy if I run out of things to do while husband plays golf on our trip. </p>

<p>Any suggestions appreciated. Son doesn’t live at home and isn’t available to tutor mom for awhile.</p>

<p>Happy birthday/anniversary lamom! I’m guessing 25 on the anniversary … right? If you’re looking around at the tutorials on the apple site, you’ve headed in the right direction. I’m a mac person from the olden days so I don’t have any great sites for training, but google “customizing mac desktop” and “new mac user” for some tips.</p>

<p>DH & I just hit our 25th and my birthday is this month. He’d be happy hitting the links in Pebble Beach and I’d love a new techie toy. Have fun!</p>

<p>if you have specific issues, the people at the apple stores (if you have one close) are generally very helpful.</p>

<p>did you put all your music into iTunes?
do you own an external hard drive that you can use to set up time machine (automatically backs up your files)?</p>

<p>re music and itunes. Husband just took old iphone and loaded all the music in it to the MAC, the music that had disappeared when the old computer died.
The son surprised me with a visit for early BD dinner :)</p>
