NEW Miss Universe Crowned Tonight

<p>Hey, did anyone else watch this tonight? I was soooo happy when Mexico won the crown (Miss Jimena Navarrete) because my family is from Mexico and my dad is from the same state as the winner is (Jalisco). </p>

<p>Any other watchers? Any thoughts, comments, disappointments? ;D</p>

<p>I thought Miss Jamacia would win, until she walked out in the tragic gown and those garish earings. I wasn’t feeling Miss Mexico all night. Boy, although the girls all came from all over the world (if not the entire universe), they all certainly looked alike!!!</p>

<p>^^Agreed re: looking alike. I think that’s why Miss Australia did so well. She was different: natural makeup, girl-next-door, Jennifer Aniston look. She was also the only one who clapped for the others - hell, she was the only one who actually cracked a different expression during the night.</p>

<p>^^Yup. And Miss Australia was one of the few girls who did not look older than her actual age.</p>

<p>Miss Australia grew on me…I didn’t like her gown, but she was the only one who seemed “real.”</p>

<p>Miss Australia was ugly, as was Ukraine. Something about her face seemed disporportioned. </p>

<p>Miss philippines’s answer made me laugh- you knew she was done for after she spoke.</p>

<p>I know! I wondered if she was bright enough to know she had blown it, or if she thought she did well.</p>

<p>Remember when Miss America had a current events quiz for a couple of years (for the top finalists)? I was amazed that they did it a second year, because some of those girls didn’t know the answer to really easy questions.</p>
