Has anyone ever spent Xmas in New Orleans?
I live about an hour away and have been there many tines during the season.
There are a good many holiday-related things to do. Some beautiful decorations at hotels and other places (the Roosevelt hotel lobby is stunning).
The weather is mild. The food is, of course, excellent.
Yes, because I live here!
There are many things to do and enjoy. There are free concerts, organized by the French Quarter Fest people, bonfires on the levy (especially in St. James parish), special Reveillon menus at many restaurants, Celebration in the Oaks at City Park, and all the usual attractions.

Interesting shows at the WWII museum theater - https://www.nationalww2museum.org/events-programs/bbs-stage-door-canteen
More on the bonfires, I think you can even take a tour bus to see them - https://www.louisianatravel.com/blog/louisiana-christmas-tradition-bonfires-levee
Yeah, there is a Gray Line tour that goes to the bonfires. Seems easier than trying to fight the traffic.
