Hi,
I admitted USA 1 month ago, and I got my permanent resident card.
I’m trying to apply in the University of Michigan, but they said they will consider me as non-resident because I attended a college overseas unless I filled an application and I sent them some documents.
One of the required documents to be considered as a resident is the most recent federal and state income tax return, but I’m a new resident so I don’t have income tax return yet.

Also, I’m younger than 24, so they will consider me as a dependent of my parents, and my parents are residents also, but they don’t work in Michigan right now.
I’m self-employed and I can support myself financially. If I can support myself, will they still consider me as a dependent?
