New SAT cutoff?

Hi everyone!

All the progs(or most of them) have some sort of cutoff, or at least an expectation of an SAT score from applicants. Until now, they’ve done it based on the 1600 SAT.

Does anyone know what a “competitive” score will be for the progs in terms of the new 2400 SAT? 2300? 2200??

Thanx :D

well… MOST of these programs expect 1400+… thats usually the cutoff… now for the programs at gw and drexel… i know that kids with 1300’s get in… just add 700 to each of these… cuz thats wat most kids have on their sat 2 writing… BUT if u r looking at browns’ plme or northwestern, case, rochester… u probably need 2250+… it depends how competitive/prestigious the program is… i would think that 700 in each section is good enough to get into a program somewhere

Im guessing around 2050-2150…
its because they wont have a strict cutoof anymore
Before the cutoff for the SAT was 1400… in most cases
and the writing SATII was whatever for students
but you cant generalize and say a 700

so I would say the student should at least get a 600…
so thus I came up with 2050 as a cutoff…
I think the nxt yr applicants should do well…
because the schools dont have a thing… like past data
so theyll probably accept everything and make a ccutoff score in 2 yrs or so…

yeah
so i suggest aiming for at least 2100

I disagree. I think that the schools can make a cutoff score based on the current cutoff score for the SAT (around 1400) and what applicants should have on writing (at least 700). That makes it about 2100 (although it would probably be less for the first year or so).
