New SAT Score Bump from 1310 to 1450+?? Please Help

Hello, I need some tips on overall performance to bump my SAT score to 1450+
PSAT (Sophomore): 179/240 59/80 M, 68/80 W, 52/80 CR
PSAT (Junior): 1230/1520 690/760 M, 540/760 Verbal (34.5 M/38, 29/38 W, 25/38 R)

SAT (Junior, May): 1310/1600 700 M, 610 Verbal (35/40 M, 32/40 W, 29/40 R):
Crosstest Scores: Analysis in Science (30/40), Analysis in History/Social Studies (30/40)
Subscores: Command of Evidence (9/15), Words in Context (15/15), Expression of Ideas (11/15), Standard English Conventions (13/15), Heart of Algebra (12/15), Problem Solving and Data Analysis (12/15), Passport to Advanced Math (15/15)
Essay: 17/24 Reading (6/8), Analysis (5/8), Writing (6/8)
On the SAT, I felt like the reading was much easier than it was on the PSAT, but I ran out of time and ended up guessing around 10 questions…got 16 wrong in total. For writing, I know I’m getting the questions with “delete the underlined portion” or “should the sentence be kept” and the questions that ask “where if placed does this sentence fit best”…
In general, I’ve always struggled with reading. I’ve read many posts on this forum about how to improve my reading scores, but nothing seems to help :(. For writing, I don’t know what’s happening to me, but the new writing seems more complex: 68 W to a 32 W on the new sat :(. Math, I’ve always loved, and it’s been increasing, but I need to know how to score 750+ to bump my score up. Please give me strategies, plans, books, etc. to help me achieve this goal.

Practice, practice, practice.

Use Khan Academy. Really read through why you got your answers right and wrong.

Buy the official Collegeboard SAT practice book, and again, really understand why the answer is what it is.

Use the official daily SAT question app. And again, read through why each answer is what it is. There’s a certain rhyme and reason to each type of question, and you’ll get good at understanding this if you practice with the official materials enough.

For the essays: practice writing. There’s prompts online, go find one, set the time limit for yourself, and write an essay on the prompt. When the half hour or so is over, throw it away, and try again. Twice.

Doing all of this for two months boosted my score by effectively 250 points.

@coterie Going from 1260 to 1510 is hella impressive dude. Great Job! Anyhow, what was your schedule like for the prep?

@YoohooAddict

I could estimate the amount of time I spent per day for x amount of days on studying, but the truth is, everyone’s different. If you tried to finish all the material I finished in the same amount of time as me, then you would be going at too slow/too fast of a pace.

So instead, I’ll tell you how much material I studied over the course of three months.

• 150 official Daily SAT Practice app questions
• read through the entirety of the official SAT study book
• 4 practice tests (all of them) in the official SAT study book
• 6 rounds (levels?) of the Khan Academy practice for both math and reading. (12 total)

I studied a lot harder when there were 3 weeks left to the exam date. But divide up the questions at your own pace, and most importantly, read the explanation of why each question’s answer is right or wrong.

Nice thanks man, hopefully it’ll work for me as well then. @coterie
